Mount Pleasant Primary School

Ofsted

April 2019

Following our recent inspection, we are very pleased to share with you our Ofsted report.

Mount Pleasant Primary school continues to be a Good School – one of which the whole school community can be very proud. Remaining a good school is a tremendous achievement in itself.

The inspection findings agreed with the self- evaluations we have made and recognised the considerable strengths of the school. They also recognised that the areas for development which we have already identified, and are working on, are focusing upon the right things and are having a positive impact. This demonstrates that we know and understand our strengths and weaknesses well.

Overall, the Ofsted judgement is a very pleasing result and reflects the “calm, caring and purposeful environment where the school motto of ‘believe it, achieve it’ is a reality for pupils of all ages.”

We are proud that Ofsted recognises that our children “feel well cared for and secure,” and that “in all year groups are reaching higher standards and making stronger progress than in the past.”

As you are aware, Reading has been an improvement target for us since the last inspection, so it is with pleasure we can see that; Leaders and staff have addressed this area of improvement well and actions are having a positive impact on pupils throughout the school. As a consequence, increasing proportions of pupils are on track to reach greater depth in reading.”

Thank you to all of you who took the time to speak to the inspector, or to submit your views about our school.  This helped to show what a united and strong community we are, and what we are capable of achieving together.  The children, as always, did us all proud throughout.

Finally, a huge thank you for your continued support.  If after reading the inspection report you have any comments or questions, then please do get in touch.
