What is it?
The government is providing additional funding to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding - provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport – is allocated to all primary schools. It is estimated that we will receive just over £9,000 each year.
This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.
What will we spend the money on?
We already have a thriving PE curriculum. We encourage children to take part in PE and sporting activities across the school. We already run many after-school clubs and pupils are selected to represent the school in many competitions. We have also been very successful over the past few years winning competitions in football, netball and gymnastics. We have also had our most talented pupils selected for county and district teams in football and netball, and our gymnastic team has represented Dudley schools in borough wide competitions.
