Awe and Wonder in Science
Working Scientifically
As budding scientists, our children love to get stuck in to scientific experiments and inquiries. We hypothesise by asking questions, design investigations to prove or disprove our thoughts, observe, record and analyse data to discover more about the world around us. These photos show some of our children carrying out investigations, sorting and classifying and getting messy whilst experimenting with slime!
Space Dome
Mount pleasant was invaded by a huge planetarium that landed suddenly in our hall! The children were wowed when they gazed at star shows; watched messages from real astronaut, Tim Peak; and saw the sheer size of the planets of our solar system close up!
National Space Centre
Year 5 set off on a journey where no Mount Pleasant pupil has been before whilst learning all about our planet and solar system in their Learning Adventure, The Final Frontier. A visit to the National Space Centre Leicester, left our children open mouthed in wonder when they got the opportunity to interact with the exhibits and get ‘hands on’ with our universe.
