Writing

Our new writing curriculum follows the "Writing Roots" approach from the Literacy Tree. We teach every aspect of writing through literature: we immerse the children in rich literary experiences that spark curiosity and inspire meaningful writing opportunities. We focus on diverse texts with important themes, that are explored further through drama, debate and discussion, coupled together with immersive classroom experiences. This supports the children to write with stamina, expertise and purpose for real audiences. Throughout the year, writing opportunities are revisited to reinforce objectives and make learning stick.
